Stephen – It was a collaborate effort with my team. I wanted to create something that shed a different light on the lyrics of the song. I wanted to dig a little deeper into the creativity space for this music video. The Director, Randy Shaffer with Vibe Entertainment, had previously shot some content in an old prison, so we thought that would fit perfectly with the concept of the video.
TNB – Tell us about how this song came together
Stephen – It was a process of about a year from start to finish. Dustin Herring, Bryce Carlisle, and I wrote about half the song in our first session, then finished it over two more sessions. My Producer, Lalo Guzman, knew instantly what he wanted to do to create the vibe of the song and it couldn’t have been more perfect. It was an all around total group effort, from the writers to the players on the song.
TNB – How are you using time in quarantine? Any upcoming announcements we should be on the lookout for?
Stephen – A lot of family time, fishing in my pond, some occasional Xbox, and of course, a lot of guitar playing. Hoping to release some new music this summer!
