Nominees Announced for Inaugural People’s Choice Country Awards

The nominees for the first annual People's Choice Country Awards have been announced, with today's most noteworthy country stars vying for as-yet-unseen trophies that hopefully scream yeehaw. Here's what to know.

Who's up for a trophy? Morgan Wallen leads the pack with 11 nods. He's followed by Luke Combs and HARDY with nine nominations each, Jelly Roll with eight, Lainey Wilson with seven, Zach Bryan and Kane Brown with six nods apiece and Megan Moroney with five. Wallen, Combs, Wilson, Bryan and Brown are all nominated for the show's top award, The People’s Artist of 2023, alongside Blake Shelton, Kelsea Ballerini and Old Dominion.

Other categories (there are 12 total) include Social Country Star of 2023, Crossover Song of 2023 and Concert Tour of 2023. See the full list of nominees here.

Along with the fan-voted awards, the show will award several additional honors during the evening. Toby Keith will receive the Country Music Icon Award, presented by Blake Shelton. Additional honorary award recipients will be announced in the coming weeks. 

Wanna vote? Voting is currently open and runs through Friday, August 25 at 11:59 p.m. ET. Fans can vote online at www.votepcca.com and votes cast on Turbo Tuesday, August 22 (12:00 a.m. – 11:59 p.m. ET) will count twice.

How to watch: The inaugural show will take place on September 28 at the Grand Ole Opry and will be hosted by Little Big Town, who will also perform during the evening. The People's Choice Country Awards will air live at 8 p.m. ET/PT simultaneously on NBC and Peacock. Additionally, "Backstage Live: People’s Choice Country Awards" will livestream on Peacock, PCA Twitter, NBC Twitter/Facebook/YouTube, TODAY All Day/Twitter, E! News Twitter/Facebook/YouTube/E!Online, Access Twitter/YouTube, and Circle TV Network and Circle social platforms.
